A member asked:

Can running, while suffering from pes anserine bursitis pain lead to semitendinosus tendon tear? or will it just increase the inflammation/pain?

Pes anserine : usually running will cause the bursitis to flare. The semitendinosis could certainly tear, but this would be more rare than just a flare.

Pes bursitis : ruby666 fortunately the way the semitendinosis is attached to the tibia it is not possible to tear is with running or jogging. The semitendinosis is more susceptible to injury in the upper part of the posterior thigh in sprinters and else type athletes. Increasing the inflammation down by the tibial knee insertion however is possible if you keep running.
