Needs treatment: The bursting abscess is actually a good thing and any swallowed infection will not hurt the baby; however you have an infection in your body that should be treated or that can get into your blood stream and be a potential problem.

See a dentist ASAP: for evaluation and treatment. Pregnancy is not a reason to delay routine dental care or treatment. Good luck.

Why wait ?: You should have seen a dentist when the abscess first appeared. Your dentist and OBGYN will consult and together will work to keep you and your baby healthy. Pregnancy does not prevent you from receiving medical care.
