Maybe 60-70% chance: If medications and physical therapy are not adequately controlling your pain from the disc herniation, injection is a reasonable next strep. Unfortunately there is no way to tell for sure if you will get relief, but there is about 60-70% chance u will get some benefit. The first couple of days you may actually feel a bit worse. I recommend asking your doc..Lots of questions. Consult doc. Good luck.

They may: There is some controversy now whether steroid injections actually help. In my experience, many of my patients have gotten relief, but it is not permanent.
