Mesothelioma : though only 2500-3000 cases and a rare cancer in US, the most cases found were 1970-1984 after wwII and shipyard asbestos exposure. Distinguishing mesothelioma from lung adenocarcinoma is difficult. Tissue biopsy is the definitive diagnosis, and CT, MRI, and PET scans are mostly noninvasive for staging the extent of disease once diagnosed. Try mesobook.com and good luck!
