Consider 2nd opinion: Exercise your right to a second opinion by a qualified physician if you are uncomfortable with the advice you have been given, or reconsult with your original physician and explain your concern or confusion about the current recommendation. Chances are, s/he will be happy to clarify for you. If not, it may be time to transition your care to someone you are more comfortable with.
