Some examples...: There are medications that can be prescribed to help stimulate appetite but these are generally given for underlying health conditions--such as weight loss associated with HIV, severe depression, or cancer. Some examples would include Marinol (a medication derived from marijuana compounds), Cyproheptadine, or Megace (megestrol). See your doctor for guidance if you feel you are underweight.

Remember : First you have to figure why your weight is suboptimal. The key to treat an issue like this - really any issue in life- is to first figure out the root cause. It allows for more guided, specific treatments.
