Depends: It really depends on where you're going to have the procedure done (Office vs. hospital vs. outpatient procedure unit), the level of anesthesia being utilized and/or the prior medical history. Wish there was a more definitive answer ... Hope that helps!

Typically no: Unless there are significant medical issues which might lead to profound injection reactions or allergic rxtns, an epidural steroid injection is usually well tolerated. Usually, these are relatively unscreened and not fully vetted, and medical clearance would be an exception.
