Xray foot: doot and tast might not be related issue. What type of medications your in that might be effecting you taste. For your foot get an xray and see your foot doctor

Hard to Say.: A symptom that "comes and goes" is particularly hard to explain give that it may occur or not be present for seemingly no reason. I don't think that the foot pain and strange taste are related. Try to document the times the pain occurs and the activity you were involved in just prior and during the symptom break out. This can be so helpful.

Unrelated: i would rule out a nerve entrapment or look to make sure if the second toe is the longest that the shoes fit properly
