I was diagnosed with chlamidyia and treat with cipro (ciprofloxacin) (non diagnosed). the treatment worked and i tested clear few weeks later. why? iv been told since cipro (ciprofloxacin) wouldn't work? but it did?!?.

Can work: Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is not a drug we usually use to treat chlamydia infections, but it can work. Other question I would have is whether diagnosis of chlamydia infection was correct? Many other types of infections and irritations can cause urethritis (inflammation of urethra). Hope this was helpful. Dr R

Chlamydia: While cipro (ciprofloxacin) not the initial treatment of choice "quinolones" which cipro (ciprofloxacin) is can be used to treat it. If you were tested again and it was negative then you should be fine.
