Facial flushing: Technically flushing is caused by the dilation of blood vessels near the surface of the skin. It is obviously more common in people with pale skin. Exercise and hormonal fluctuations are the most common causes. You should see a doctor about it though, as it could be a sign of an underlying hormonal disorder.

Ovarian failure?: The most common cause of night flushing is reduced Estradiol production by the ovary. Go to your family md and get blood drawn for estradiol, lh, fsh, t4, and tsh. Sometimes hyperthyroidism can be associated with flushing.
