Heart ?: Why do you think its your heart? Is it in your chest? Many things can give you chest pain. If its worse when you lay down at night one thinks of acid refluxing into your esophagus. Ulcers/gastritis are other things that might give you pain at night. Heart pain would more commonly be associated with increased activity, climbing stairs for example. See your md to begin a workup.

See doc: That fact that your pain is both sharp and random make your discomfort less likely to be heart, or anything life threatening. It is a good idea to get it checked out to be sure.
