Unlike stimulant medications, it does not specifically target receptors in areas of the brain that inhibit behavior & sustain attention to salient information or tasks. The maximum adult dose of Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is 70 mg./day. Caffeine is not contra-indicated, but some patients report that taking both causes them to have increased anxiety, agitation, irritability &/or insomnia.
