Try it: Try giving it a break. Likely muscle strain/spasm. Your jaw opening and closing muscles include the temporalis muscle which extends to the side of the head next to the forehead. Once any of these are sore, they can affect the rest. Switch sides, or stop for awhile and see how it goes. Good Luck.

Try it: Try not chewing gum (cold turkey withdrawal) and see what happens. In any case, your symptoms should be brought to your Dentist's attention so that cause of problem can be delineated and then best treatment accomplished.
