No: Epinephrine is what the body produces and possess both alpha and beta adrenergic activities. Ephedrine (ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) sulfate) releases norepinephrine from cells and the effect and onset of action are variable and certainly much delayed. It must not be used for anaphylaxis. There is no place for the use of ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) in medicine nowadays.

Medicine names: ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) is not the same as epinephrine. Ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) is a standard medicine used in anesthesia to raise blood pressure

Not quite: Ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) is a synthetic drug that works by stimulating nerve endings to release norepinephrine and epinephrine, substances - hormones - that are produced in our body. Although the pharmacologic mechanism and the end action is very similar, these are two different medications, epinephrine being much more potent.
