Might be reflux: Sometimes when a baby is set in the crib (lying flat on his/her back), a little stomach acid slides up into the esophagus. Just as when adults get heartburn (reflux), it can hurt. A baby may wake up suddenly - often crying as if in pain! Picking the baby up can correct the problem - at least temporarily. Talk to your doctor; sometimes medications can help. LGromkoMD
