Not necessarily: Cordarone (amiodarone) can cause several types of pulmonary toxicity, the most common being interstitial pneumonitis. There is no evidence that it causes sleep apnea. Out of 2800 patients in one survey reporting side effects of cordarone only 1 patient reported sleep apnea. Atrial fibrillation predisposes to the development sleep apnea due to autonomic instability and intrathoracic pressure swings
