Yes: A tendon is a fibrous connective tissue which attaches muscle to bone as well as muscles to structures. A tear or rupture is different than tendinitis though (which is what usually occurs at the elbow). A full tear you'd most likely feel (think of when a rubber band breaks).

Typical symptoms: Pain with swelling that occurs steadily and quickly after the injury.
