Compromise?: The long-acting implanted devices (Implanon, Paragard & Copper T) are extremely effective but must be inserted and removed by a professional. The pill, patch & vaginal ring are less effective, but you can stop them at any time Fertility resumes within 3 months, sometimes in the first cycle. Depo-provera is equally effective but fertility won't resume for at least 3 months after the last shot.

Increasing fertility: There are many things you can do to increase your fertility. Controlling weight, not smoking, avoiding caffeine and alcohol have all been shown to help fertility. You want to have sex 1-3 days before ovulation. This can be predicted by counting 14 days before your next expected menstrual period. Or you can use one the 'Ovulation Predictor' kits available online or at the drug store. Good Luck
