A member asked:

I had arthroscopic ankle surgery six days ago. my foot gets very swollen from sitting for short while. is this normal? how long will it be swollen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal swelling: This is normal after surgery. The swelling will decrease over time. The majority of it should subside in a few weeks. Keep your leg elevated and use the ace bandage that was given to you.
