Serious trauma: serious blunt force trauma can take a long time to heal completely. Assuming that she has no complications during her recovery, it may still take her months to recover, perhaps even longer if she has a brain injury, which you did not comment on. I'd ask her trauma surgeon for more details. A positive? She is only 16, and youth certainly makes healing go faster. Stay the course. She's alive!
