Can you still have a colonoscopy if you are having a herpes outbreak?

Up to your doctor: This is something to be decided only by the doctor who will be doing the colonoscopy. Maybe not if the outbreak is near your anal area, but maybe OK if more distant or largely healed by the time of the procedure. Or maybe the doctor would prescribe anti-HSV treatment (e.g. acyclovir, valacyclovir) during the procedure. Contact the doc's office and ask directly.
