Sounds normal: Although it is impossible to say for sure without seeing it, it sounds like just a variation on your typical bruise. I would give it a few days and if it is not resolving or if it is getting to be more of a concern, go to the clinic to have someone look at it.

Ecchymosis: Ecchymosis or "bruising" is a small soft tissue bleed usually as a result of trauma. Small red spots are sometimes identified as petechia, which is a hemorrhage of small blood vessels. Sometimes these findings can be indicative of disease, in other cases they are normal.
