Not normal: The most common cause for numbness and pain in the thigh is Meralgia Paresthetica (lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment as it passes under the inguinal ligament in the groin). It can be seen in a seatbelt injury from a car accident or from sports, but in most cases the cause is unknown. Obesity and diabetes are predisposing factors.
