A member asked:

For a person that's been diagnosed with pid and treated will it be hard to conceive again or would i have to take fertility pills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unknown: PID causes infertility in some patients, but not all. It causes fertility by creating scarring that blocks the fallopian tubes, which cannot be circumvented by fertility pills alone. "Fertility pills" are used to encourage ovulation, which isn't the problem in a patient who has damage from PID. In those cases, though, in vitro fertilization can be used to achieve pregnancy.
