Thrush: He may have thrush or a yeast infection from the description of the white coating. The odor to his breath may reflect a throat infection. Have him examined to confirm a diagnosis and have him treated. All the best.

White coating: May be Thrush (fungal) or a bacterial or viral infection. Please see your Pediatrician. Also, if your child's not as yet had 1st dental examination, he's 6 months overdue. Recommend you schedule with a pediatric dental specialist, a Pedodontist, for all the same reasons you see a pediatric medical specialist, a Pediatrician.
