Different Antibiotic: You may need a different antibiotic. When you have a bladder infection, your doctor will start you on an antibiotic that treats the common bacteria that cause the infection. The urine is usually cultured to make sure that the bacteria causing the infection is sensitive to the antibiotic because sometimes it isn't and you need a different antibiotic. Best wishes!

Follow-up with MD: Your urine had leukocytes, which indicates that you do have cells in your urine which show up when you have an infection or inflammation in your urinary tract. It is very important that you follow-up of urine culture results with your doctor as soon as possible as this will confirm what bacterial strain is causing the infection and also what antibiotics will be sure to work in treatment.
