Stop smoking: Smoking is certainly a possibility, or at least a contributing factor. You are lucky because you can answer your own question easily. Stop smoking for 4 weeks and see if there is a difference. Put the same amt of $ in clear jar each day, at the end of the week--treat yourself to something. You may be surprised at what you can get while also making improvements to your health.

Numbness: Cigarettes are peripheral vasoconstrictors and that decrease in blood supply is most likely the cause . As already stated - do yourself a favor and stop .
