See Below...: PCOS is caused by higher insulin levels and is frequently related to elevated weight. It can be treated in many cases by normalizing body weight. There are hormones related to insulin that prevent the ovary from processing hormones correctly. This causes cysts to form on the ovary and increases male hormone concentration. It doesn't cause cancer but can lead to diabetes and heart disease.
