Yes in certain cases: Women with elevated BMIs namely those greater than 35 and little to no major health risks my be good candidates for breast augmentation depending on the shape and size of their breast. However, in this group of women the more aesthetically pleasing operation might be a lift and augmentation also know as a Breast Reduction Mammoplasty and Augmentation.

Yes: increased risks: Yes a woman with a BMI OF 40 can get breast implants. However, this does involve a higher risk of complications. The following study from Johns Hopkins shows that complications are 12 times as likely for high BMI patients undergoing breast surgery. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21666541

Yes: Yes a woman of BMI 40 can get a breast augmentation, but many times women with a BMI over 35 can benefit from a breast lift that is like an augmentation using your own tissue. This ‘auto-augmentation’ avoids having to place a breast implant.
