A member asked:

What could cause a sharp pain in my right shoulder that is almost unbearable, only when i yawn? (not when i breathe deeply or anything similar)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yawwwwwwn....POP!!: When someone yawns, it usually means that they take a breath then hold it under pressure for a short while. If that's what you do, that means there's some pressure held expanding your lungs. So if it hurts, that might mean something wrong in there. If it persists or gets worse, you'll need to be examined in person. If it also hurts when you cough or sneeze, all the more reason to see a doctor.
