Can take days-week: Steroid injections usually include lidocaine which initially numbs the area, making it feel better until it wears off. Site pain can then actually increase until steroid can take effect to reduce inflammation, which can take days to a week. I recommend icing area, using an elbow airpillow (like AIRCAST) and ibuprofen/naproxne with limited use of arm until symptoms improve. See Dr if no better.
