Synthetic activity: In addition to the usual liver function tests, tests of synthetic functions of liver cells include blood levels of pre-albumin, coagulation factors and INR, and blood ammonia. Catalytic functions are reflected in blood levels of immunoglobulins. There are also specific tests for individual diseases, e.g. serum ceruloplasmin, alpha-1-antitrypsin, and genetic markers.
