How can i bring my bp down from taking adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine)? will exercise help? i haven't exercised in over 10 years.

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine): Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) doesn't have a huge effect on BP, however it does significantly effect the pulse rate. Moderate exercise is always a good thing - BUT - talk to your doctor & get a baseline EKG before starting any exercise pgm when taking stimulants, as they can cause an unsafe rise in pulse. Or perhaps discuss having a drug holiday if appropriate. Hope that helps!

Exercise is good: Exercise is good for lowering blood pressure in general. However it may not be enough to deal with hypertension induced by Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). Speak to your prescriber about an alternative to Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine).
