Old drug: Tinidazole is a relative of metronidazole, used outside the us for decades; it has recently come to light as a treatment for more refractory trichomonas infection. For bacterial vaginosis, however, you would expect the response rates to be the same. I anticipate more research in this area. It is not currently fda approved for bacterial vaginosis.
