My son is almost 11 but has only two adult teeth. no sign of losing any baby teeth. is this something to be concerned about?

Yes: He is very slow and behind the normal schedule for shedding his baby teeth. He should be seen by a dentist who will perform a panoramic x-ray that will show the status of the permanent teeth that have not yet erupted. By age 11 he should have about 12 permanent teeth.

Examination: Your son needs to be examined and evaluated by his dentist. At eleven, he should already have established a good relationship with a local practitioner.

Delayed eruption: Not abnormal, some children will get their teeth earlier while others later. It is normal. When children's teeth come in later than average, it is called delayed tooth eruption. Good luck.
