Needs evaluation: You do not have to have bleeding to have a concussion. If you are concerned, have him see his doctor for an evaluation.

Contact your doctor: Maybe a minor closed head injury, but you seem worried, and if he had bad headaches, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, or visual difficulties, might be wise to get this checked out.
