A member asked:

My husband had kiddney failer and not to long ago he has pain from his knees to his ankles if he sit to long it hard to get up get up but with pain ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I would be concerned: To rule out a clot in either of his legs, this would take precedence over other diagnose as this is serious. Swelling of legs is not unusual for someone with kidney failure. Elevation of legs and salt restriction is a must, need to discuss with kidney doctor. Physical therapy could help your dad get up from seated position but make sure no clots in leg.
