Along the lines of: Squats, lunges, leg presses and deadlifts are classics resistance exercises. But also, any exercise which has you explosively jumping from a squatting position to standing or in the air will engage the gluteus muscles. In fact in climbing stairs does! Unfortunately if you consume too many calories, this will also enlarge the buttock area but because of gaining fat.
