Headache : A headache w/ a small amount of blood tinged sputum is most likely from an upper respiratory infection or sinus infection. The blood likely is coming from inflammation and irritation in the nose. As long as there is no fever, worsening shortness of breath with more productive bloody sputum this should likely resolve quickly without antibiotics. It is okay to use Tylenol (acetaminophen) to help with the headache.
