Allergies/reaction: This sensation of itchiness can be caused by allergies. If it is only happening when you have the flu then it is probably caused by your bodies reaction to the infection. When we get infected our immune system sends out cells that release substances to rid us of the infection. Sometimes these substances cause inflammation and itchiness as part of the healing process.
