Gastroenteritis: Aches with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea suggest a viral gastroenteritis(intestinal flu) and usually runs its course in several days without specific treatment except rest, fluids and light diet. Food poisoning is also a possibility but fever and aches favor a diagnosis of a viral gastroenteritis. Kaopectate helps control diarrhea and Tylenol (acetaminophen) helps the aches.
