Reactive airways: If you've been sick for this long, it's quite likely that your immune system already destroyed whatever invaders caused you to be sick in the first place (bacteria or viruses). Since you have asthma, however, you may have inflammation in the airways that leads to these coughing spells. Antibiotics are very powerful and should be used carefully. You should get tested for pertussis BTW. Feel better!
