What does "short ostial stenosis of the coeliac trunk" mean?

Sounds like: finding on angiogram. It means that you have a blockage in the celiac artery where it comes off of the aorta. Depends on the degree of stenosis, but there is usually enough collateral circulation around this area, so that this finding by itself is unlikely that this is causing any symptoms or problems. If there is arterial disease in other visceral arteries, it is another story.

PAD: Ostial stenosis celiac, 1 of 3 arteries taking blood to intestines, means plaque blockage at the beginning of artery. Ostia is origin. Associated symptoms: abdominal pain after eating, weight loss with fear of eating, hypertension, diabetes, nicotine addiction, hyperlipidemia. If symptoms, you may benefit from invasive vascular imaging, an angiogram with stent. Slow down on nicotine. Be well.
