Unlikely: unlikely but possible. Most likely what you're seeing is some scar tissue or at the side of the surgery. If concern, please see your ENT surgeon for evaluation. Hope this answer was helpful. Best of luck. Dr. R

Tonsils and adenoids removed 10 years ago. Now, my right lingual tonsil only is inflamed about the size of a quarter from what little I can see. It hurts. And its hard to swallow. Ent wait time is over a month. What can I do in the meantime?
