Worth getting seen: The spleen is located in the upper left abdomen, but usually cannot be felt unless enlarged. Because it can sometimes be enlarged in a number of conditions including infections (which include mononucleosis), blood disorders, ailments that affect the circulation of the liver, and other problems, it is worthwhile getting seen.
