Yes: Early on you feel normal. Over time diabetes destroys your bodies ability to provide blood to the tissues to stay healthy. Some tissues are particuarly succeptable. DM is #1 cause of blindness. Also it is a primary cause of kidney failure. It is a primary cause of strokes, and it mostly kills people with heart attacks. On the other hand if you control it, you can stop all these. diet exerci

Absolutely: Most people dont know they have diabetes until the sugars become so high it makes them urinate frequently, drink lots of water and lose weight. Many people are found to have diabetes with routine screening and without symptoms. If its early diabetes you wont have the classic symptoms.

Feel fine: An unusual question. Your doctor's office or local pharmacist should be able to check your blood sugar and decide whether or not you have diabetes. If you turn out to have diabetes see your primary doctor very soon. If it turns out you don't have diabetes, relax and enjoy. That said, carefully managed diabetes leaves you with a good future for decades.

Diabetes symptoms.: Symptoms of diabetes include unintentional weight loss, incessant hunger, incessant thirst, desire to eat and drink constantly, blurry vision, tingling in the fingers and toes. Family history of diabetes is very predictive of such, especially in someone who is overweight. But, you can have more subtle degrees of diabetes that would only show up on a fasting blood test.

Diabetes symptoms: The majority of patients with type 2 diabetes are asymptomatic and high sugars are noted on routine laboratory evaluation, prompting further testing. Classic symptoms of hyperglycemia include polyuria, polydipsia, nocturia, blurred vision, and infrequently, weight loss. These symptoms are often noted only in retrospect, after an elevated blood glucose value has been documented.

Yes: Yes. Most people w/ undiagnosed diabetes will have some symptoms like excessive thirst, excessive hunger, more frequent urination. However, others may have no symptoms at all and the diagnosis is stumbled on by blood testing. If you have a family history of diabetes, you should be screened.
