That's an old term: for hemorrhoids.Hemorrhoids are dialated veins around the anus.Frequently, women who have given birth vaginally have them due to the pushing durring childbirth.Also,people with frequent constipation also develop them due to this same effect of pushing ( valsalva manouver ),which increases the pressure in the venous system,resulting in dialated anal veins.
