General vs specific: Hello! In general, the term viral fever would refer to any fever that results from an infection with any virus...from the flu/influenza to chicken pox. "Viral fever" might also refer to viral hemorrhagic fevers which are a group of illnesses caused by viruses that cause vascular/blood vessel damage that results in bleeding/hemorrhage. Ebola and dengue are examples of viral hemorrhagic fevers--VHFs
