See below: Supplements during breast feeding are generally a bad idea, considering they don't have the same safety testing rigor as regular drugs. That being said, the limited data for milk thistle suggests against any presence in breast milk; on the flip side, there is no solid data that suggests it helps with milk production either. If it doesn't work, why continue to take it and risk harm?
