Yes: The first shot protect but 2nd shot increase protection.

Yes: She will be developing immunity from the first shot. In adults who have been exposed to the flu before, the flu vaccine is effective in two weeks. Should she be exposed to the flu in that time, her body will already have a head start on making protection against the flu vaccine strains.
